Erna Krouch Preschool is the oldest continuously operating preschool in Oklahoma City. The Erna Krouch Preschool moved to Temple B’nai Israel in 1955 and was named after a woman who loved children and who had a dream of welcoming children of all races creeds, and ethnic origins in the Oklahoma City area. We continue to follow in that tradition
We welcome children of all races, creeds and ethnic origins from two to five years old. Our Extended Care Option is a first-rate example of what solid early childhood programming should be. After the Jewish Community is served, our enrollment is open to the community at large on a first come, first served basis. There are 2, 2 1/2, 3, and 4 year old classes and pre-kindergarten programs available.
Our program is creative, structured, innovative and child oriented. We strive to encourage your child’s self esteem and uniqueness, while establishing a place for children to interact in a group, respect others and work independently.
Each week a different, fun and exciting theme of study is presented to the children. Science, nature and music play important roles in our themes. In our Book Nook and Listening Center children develop a love of books and reading.
Whether at the Computer or Art Centers, the Science Tables, on a Field Trip or just playing out of doors, we want your child to develop into a self-confident, flexible, creative and joyful person.
For further information, contact the Preschool Director. We’d love to give you a tour of our classrooms and meet with our early childhood development staff. We think you’ll be pleased with what you see.
At Erna Krouch Preschool, we offer a developmental early childhood program, using the latest educational knowledge, combined with warmth and sensitivity. This enables our students to derive their maximum potential from these early years. In addition, all of our teachers have college degrees and are preschool professionals. We are licensed by the Okla. Dept. of Human Services. Our Preschool is designed to involve the total child: intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally. We strive to help our students develop into self-confident, flexible, creative and joyful people.
